Reports and Data

Omnicell software is Windows based and runs on a networked PC server and is accessible from any computer in the hospital by an authorised user. This means that any user, depending upon level of authorisation, can access some or all of the powerful range of reports available on the system.

A server typically holds a years worth of hospital data, which can be sorted, analysed and reported on. Data can easily exported in Excel or csv formats from any of the many reports available. There is also a database search function to allow you to flexibly sort and extract the records you are interested in.

The server and its supporting Omnigate software will readily exchange data with other hospital IT systems, if required. Our specialist teams will write the interfaces you require to extract the maximum functional value from the system and by linking to your eProcurement, finance and pharmacy systems.

There are many standard reports available which can be scheduled to be automatically sent to your email or printer and you can even tailor your own custom reports if you wish using the Omnicell report writing feature.

Here are a few examples of some reports that you might find useful:

Transaction cost by patient

By selecting the patient and a date or date range, the cost of a procedure on a particular patient can be obtained

Par versus usage report by product by department

This analyses patterns of daily usage of any item in a department so you can determine par and reorder levels based on a minimum, maximum and average daily usage over a period of time.

OmniSupplier inventory cost at par

An OmniSupplier is a cabinet or group of cabinets. You specify the cabinets you wish to list, either individually or grouped and see their stock quantities and value of goods held when fully restocked up to par.

Inventory aging report

You can ask for a report on all items that have not been used for, say the last 90 days, or any period you specify. The report will list the products and their current stock locations and quantities so you can see stock that is at risk of expiry.

Consumption by ICD 10 by Consultant

For a particular diagnosis code on a patient you can see comparative cost by Consultant.

Transactions by item by area (cabinet zone) in a date range

A simple list of what has been used and its value broken down by speciality within the department. This is the report that people will say we can get that easily from Finance. In theory, yes. In practice, when users want simple information such as a costed breakdown of product by speciality, it is hard or impossible to obtain in a timely manner from current systems. Omnicell will give you this anytime, in real time on your PC.

Omnicells software and reporting is comprehensive and there are many layers of data you can force the input of and report on afterwards. A tool to be deployed as you require.

Additionally it is possible to access the web or launch particular pages on the cabinets for example to look at drugs or product information. We also use OmniExplorer to surf the whole network of cabinets from any other cabinet or PC to view stock levels throughout the Trust.

We can train users from nurses right up to system administrators to get the best out of the Omnicells software and we have written syllabuses, hospital-based trainers and off-site based training courses to make you and your staff the masters of your new management system.
